How to find out what products are selling online

No tool shows another company's real sales. What you can do is add up public signals: the more of them point to the same product, the safer your decision.

6 signs a product is selling

  1. An ad running for a long time: few people pay for a money-losing ad for months.
  2. Many copies of the same ad: when something sells, the owner often duplicates it to sell more.
  3. Several advertisers on the same product: this suggests demand, not just one person's bet.
  4. Recent reviews on marketplaces: Amazon and eBay show the volume of reviews and, sometimes, of sales.
  5. Rising search interest: Google Trends shows whether demand is going up or down.
  6. Real conversations: comments and questions on ads and in groups show what people want.

How to cross-check in 30 minutes

  1. Search your niche in the Ad Library and note the oldest active ads.
  2. See whether other advertisers sell something similar.
  3. Check interest on Google Trends and reviews on marketplaces.
  4. Open the sales pages and compare price, promise and guarantee.

Watch out for

To speed up the first step, Prospect Spy shows days running and copies of each ad right in the Library, and keeps only the strongest on screen.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see a competitor's sales?

Not accurately. What exists are estimates and public signals, such as running time and reviews.

What's the best signal?

None on its own. The most reliable case is several pointing to the same product.

Does this work for digital products?

Yes. Long-running ads and copies also apply to courses, e-books and services.
